Verni Tour II, The Art marathon

The Galerie-ateliers L’Alcôve is organising the second edition of the Verni Tour, an art marathon on the slopes of the Croix Rousse! Our resident artist Valérie Simoncelli will be exhibiting her work entitled “Lieux et liens heureux”.

THE EVENT

The Verni Tour enjoyed its first success in 2023. It consists of a tour of 6 vernissages down the slopes of the Croix Rousse. Over the course of an evening, from 5pm to 10pm, you’ll be able to discover some very special places, a wide range of artists and their practices. The walk, for art lovers and professionals alike, is a chance to discover new places and artists, and to share your love of art through a number of independent, unique and one-of-a-kind studio galleries.
There are 6 participating structures: Galerie-ateliers L’Alcôve, Les ateliers du Collectif, La galerie atelier C. Mainguy, L’atelier du Hibou Perché, L’atelier One Shot, L’atelier 27 Watts. These venues are all within easy reach, and the tour starts wherever you like, so you can see all the current exhibitions in one evening! It’s a real eye-opener!

This event has created a network, bringing together an art-loving public who are always curious about new venues and artists. We’ll be doing it again in 2024, and we look forward to seeing lots of you there!

Admission is free for all, from 5pm to 10pm.

THE EXHIBITION at the Alcôve gallery

On this evening, your Galerie-atelier L’Alcôve will be hosting the opening of the exhibition “Lieux et liens heureux” by our resident artist Valérie Simoncelli, who will be reporting on her two-week artistic residency open to the public, starting at 5pm at the Galerie-ateliers L’Alcôve, 15 rue René-Leynaud, 69001 Lyon.

The exhibition will be on show at the gallery from 2 to 6 April.

Urban planner and visual artist

This year Valérie Simoncelli has decided to transform the gallery space at L’Alcôve into a studio, to explore the ties that bind us to the place where we live, where we were born or where we dream.

It is these tangible or intangible links to these places, specific to each individual, and the nature of the feelings and emotions that arise from them, that she wishes to express through her drawings and installations. Drawing on her own experience and on interviews she has conducted, and on your contributions to come, she plans to give an account of these stories and to stage them, accumulating them like a collection.

You are all invited to come and talk to the artist at the gallery during these two weeks of residency, or to send your contributions to her work directly via this questionnaire.
