“Error Project: Augmented Paintings”
From February 17 to March 6, 2022
Galerie L’Alcôve is hosting Mathia Pagani from February 17 to March 6, 2022 for his solo exhibition “Error Project: Augmented Paintings.” The artist invites you to the opening reception on Thursday, February 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at L’Alcôve. On this occasion, a “Photo Booth” activity led by Mathia Pagani will allow visitors who wish to do so to have their picture taken and fully immerse themselves in these augmented reality artworks.
“In Pagani’s poetic grammar, ‘error’ is a fundamental component — destabilizing and at the same time deeply poetic. On the one hand, there is the profoundly meditative Pagani, who works meticulously to compose canvases made of simple chromatic triangles emerging from the surface through subtle luminous vibrations; on the other hand, there is the technological artist, who unleashes his delicate imagination within the relentless mechanism of the computer.
It is no coincidence that the most representative series of his latest project is called 404 Not Found, a title borrowed from the message displayed on a screen to indicate a failure, an error.
‘These are images of cities that incorporate the form of the perfect triangle, while at the same time embracing the stumbling block of an unexpected, out-of-context factor that gently unsettles them.’”
Excerpt from the presentation by Giuseppe Frangi, president of Casa Testori, Milan.
