Xiaojun graduated from the Hubei School of Fine Arts in 2006 (Wuhan, China) and the National School of Art of Nancy in 2012 (DNSEP). She now lives and works in Lyon.

A few words from Xiaojun about her work:

‘Black and white, full and empty, visible and invisible. My work focuses on a constant research of their relationship and composition. The use of different modes and themes of representation allows to exhibit a wide range of emotions which can all relate to the theme of the Body and Nature. According to Laozi, ‘the Way is the path to follow to accede to Virtue. As an object, the Way is absolutely vague and indefinite, but in this indetermination it possesses a form and a certain reality’ (Tao Tö King ‘The Book of the Way and Virtue’, chapter 21). Existing and nonexisting thus coexist permanently in my work in an infinite dialectic.’
